Company Overview
Our client is a leading international data centre developer and operator delivering hyperscale and colocation facilities across Europe. Due to continued expansion in the German market, they are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to oversee the delivery of complex mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Role Overview
The MEP Lead will be responsible for the overall coordination, management, and delivery of all systems during the construction of large-scale data centre projects.
This role ensures that all MEP works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with German regulations and data centre standards.
The MEP Lead will work closely with the construction team, general contractor, MEP subcontractors, commissioning engineers, and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead and manage all MEP activities across the data centre project lifecycle
- Oversee installation of critical mechanical and electrical systems
- Ensure alignment with design specifications, project programme, and quality standards
- Coordinate between construction, engineering, commissioning, and operations teams
- Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors and installation teams
- Conduct site inspections and progress monitoring
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and German construction regulations
- Support testing and commissioning of critical systems
- Work with commissioning teams to deliver Level 1-5 commissioning
- Ensure smooth transition to operations
- Provide regular progress reports to the Project Director / Construction Director
- Manage risk, technical issues, and change control
- Attend coordination meetings with consultants and client representatives
Requirements
Education
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar
- EU National Passport or right to work in EU
Experience
- 8-12+ years experience in MEP construction
- Experience on mission-critical or data centre projects strongly preferred
- Experience managing large MEP packages (ā¬50M+)
- Experience working with EPC contractors or hyperscale clients
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of data centre power and cooling infrastructure
- Familiarity with Tier III / Tier IV design standards
- Knowledge of BMS / EPMS systems
- Understanding of commissioning processes
Language
- English required
- German preferred
