Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed lighting designs, layouts, and calculations using industry software such as Dialux and Relux
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards including CIBSE guidelines and BS EN 12464
• Select appropriate lighting fixtures, control systems, and emergency lighting solutions
• Coordinate with other MEP disciplines to integrate lighting into overall building services design
• Review contractor work to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project managers
• Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of lighting systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation
• Ensure timely delivery of lighting packages within project deadlines
• Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience in lighting design and/or electrical building services
• Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g. Dialux / Relux)
• Knowledge of lighting standards such as CIBSE and BS EN 12464
• Understanding of electrical systems and MEP coordination
• Strong communication and coordination skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects (rail, airports, data centres)
• Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g. Revit)
• Knowledge of smart lighting and control systems
• Site experience in installation and commissioning
