Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Air Compressor Technician to join our team in Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial and commercial air compressor systems. This role requires a strong background in electrical and mechanical components, as well as a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Setup: Install and commission new air compressor units and related equipment, ensuring proper connections, alignment, and compliance with manufacturer specifications and local codes.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, belt adjustments, cleaning, and lubrication. Diagnose and address mechanical and electrical issues to restore optimal operation and prevent costly downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of system failures using diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals. Implement effective solutions, testing each unit thoroughly before returning it to service.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about needed repairs, maintenance schedules, and system upgrades. Provide recommendations for improved efficiency and cost savings.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service records, including parts used, tasks performed, and recommended follow-up actions. Complete service reports promptly and update internal systems with relevant information.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhere to local regulations and industry standards. Ensure that worksites are clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience (2+ years) working with air compressors, pneumatic tools, or related mechanical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, controls, and mechanical assemblies associated with air compressors and dryers.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic computer software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or emergency calls.
Working Conditions:
Work may take place both indoors and outdoors in various industrial or commercial settings. The role may involve lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.), working in confined spaces, and using ladders or lifts. Technicians should be comfortable working in varying temperatures typical of Texas environments.
