Data Engineer (Azure)

Data Engineer (Azure) / Insurance / 12 Month contract / Vaud

Darwin Recruitment AG have a new open position at one of our key clients, where we are looking for a temporary external consultant to start as soon as possible. Our client is looking for a talented Data Azure Engineer to assist them on an ambitious long-term transformation strategy project, which involves replacing their current outdated system with brand new, cutting edge products.

Conditions

• Start date: October 2023
• End date: October 2024 / 12 months from start
• Internalisation: If good performance extension or internalisation possible
• Day rate: Between CHF 750-1000 (dependant on experience)
• Location: Onsite in Vevey around 60% and home office 40%

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Facilitate system integration, establish data pathways, and streamline business processes.
• Generate Entity-Relationships (ER) diagrams and craft queries for relational databases.
• Establish and uphold the integrity of database elements while creating and managing them.
• Configure, deploy, and sustain the database infrastructure.
• Actively engage in the development and upkeep of the Data hub.
• Design, create, and implement SSIS packages.
• Offer technical design and coding support to the team to achieve project goals within scope and schedule.
• Demonstrate the capability to liaise with users and elicit Business Requirements.

Must-haves

• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps and Azure Storage/Data Lake.
• Experience in extraction, transformation, and loading (ELT) processes.
• Strong background in analytics development
• Competency in relational databases and SQL language.
• Familiarity with JAVA or C# is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Caple of both independent work as a self-starter and collaborative teamwork.
• Effective communication skills in FRENCH and ENGLISH, written and verbal.
