We are in search of a Master Compressed Air Technician to provide on-site support to customers by installing, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing compressed air, vacuum, and nitrogen systems. This position is within our Compressor Maintenance Company division and is dedicated to serving the Northeastern, PA Territory.

Location: Northeastern, PA.

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 + Overtime + Benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites as needed, sometimes on short notice, for essential repair and service tasks.
  • Execute preventative maintenance on systems and deliver a comprehensive professional report that encompasses the customer's entire system during each visit, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct failure analysis of malfunctioning parts or components, report your findings to management, collaborate with suppliers and OEMs, and support corrective actions to mitigate risk and prevent the recurrence of failures.
  • Efficiently diagnose system failures and facilitate equipment repairs in the field, even under adverse conditions and without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, covering a wide range of systems, from relay logic to variable frequency-driven equipment, master control systems, and communication systems.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to provide customers with unified support, enabling them to focus on their core business activities.
  • Engage in effective communication with team members, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues, employing a diverse set of technical, verbal, and written skills, along with various computerized software and tools.
  • Install new systems, including commissioning and startup inspections.
  • Conduct mechanical inspections using instruments like micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and specialized tools.
  • Ensure proper coupling alignments and perform a variety of other intricate tasks crucial for the successful operation of compression equipment.
  • Interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), plan and elevation drawings, installation and operation instructions, procedures and specifications, as well as technical bulletins and manuals.
  • Recognize and adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies that apply to each location.
  • Provide leadership and training to Field Service Technicians.
  • Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, and other necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Daily travel is required, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Be available to work on weekends and be on call for emergency breakdowns as necessary.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) is preferred, and having some vocational/technical related experience is a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision, is essential.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) is necessary.
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, are required.
  • Experience in using a laser alignment tool for motor alignment is expected.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and understanding equipment manuals from manufacturers is a must.
  • Experience with a wide range of compressed air, vacuum, and air dryer systems of various sizes is essential.
  • A clean driving record and the ability to pass a DOT physical examination are prerequisites.
  • A commitment to continuous learning through online and manufacturer service schools is anticipated.
