This is a hands-on, field-based role, not an office position. Technicians will be provided with a fully equipped service van for work duties and access to a personal vehicle outside working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on mobile cranes (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computer systems).
- Respond to breakdowns and malfunctions reported by operations, ranging from basic issues (battery boosts, hydraulic leaks) to complex troubleshooting (engine regeneration, fault-finding with diagnostic tools like JalTest, hydraulic/electrical systems analysis).
- Conduct scheduled maintenance (e.g., 750-hour services) and ensure cranes remain in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate with a remote technical support team for advanced diagnostics (access to wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, etc.).
- Work efficiently during crane downtime (especially after 16:00 when operations slow).
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Standard Hours: 07:30-17:00 (10-hour day, including 30-minute lunch).
- Weekend Work: Rare, but required when urgent (overtime compensation provided).
- Rotation: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 8 weeks on / 3 weeks off.
- Accommodation: Provided (fully furnished apartment with internet, parking).
- Transport: Company service van during work hours + personal vehicle available after hours.
- Flights: Return flights for rotation covered.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing heavy mobile cranes (hydraulic & lattice boom).
- Strong expertise in hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and computerized controls.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools (e.g., JalTest, Liebherr/Terex diagnostic software).
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to work on a rotation schedule in Antwerp.
