3D Generalist (Blender & Unreal Engine) – UK / EU – Freelance Contract

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled 3D Generalist with strong expertise in Blender to support a variety of creative and real-time projects.

This is a hands-on freelance role focused on producing high-quality 3D assets, from modelling through to texturing and, where required, animation. You will work across different project types, delivering optimized assets suitable for real-time applications and interactive environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D models using Blender
• Develop clean, optimized assets suitable for game engines and real-time use
• Perform UV unwrapping and produce high-quality textures
• Deliver complete and well-structured Blender project files
• Rig assets for animation where required
• Collaborate with creative and technical teams to meet project requirements
• Ensure assets meet performance and quality standards
• Adapt to varying project needs and workflows

Skills & Experience

• Expert-level proficiency in Blender
• Strong experience in clean modelling and topology
• Proven experience creating optimized, game-ready assets
• Solid understanding of UV mapping and texturing workflows
• Experience with texturing tools such as Substance 3D
• Strong understanding of animation and rendering pipelines
• Ability to work independently and manage varying workloads

Nice to Have

• Experience with Unreal Engine 5
• Knowledge of importing and optimizing assets for UE5
• Experience in scene building and environment setup
• Understanding of Blueprints for actors
• Experience with camera setup and Sequencer for animation
