About the Client
A pioneering satellite communications company at the forefront of defense innovation is looking to appoint a Sales Director focused on the U.S. Army and wider Department of Defense. We’ve been exclusively retained to identify an accomplished professional who thrives in technical, high-stakes environments and can lead the charge in expanding a transformative SATCOM capability across Army acquisition programs.
This is not your typical government sales role. Our client has built a software-defined terminal capable of communicating simultaneously with multiple satellites in any orbit, on any network – a leap forward in resilient, flexible communications for defense and tactical operations. They’re already gaining traction across military, mobile, and maritime sectors – and now they’re looking for someone who can open doors, navigate complexity, and drive strategic wins within the DoD ecosystem.
The Role:
This is a growth-focused leadership role where you will own the company’s U.S. Army and DoD sales strategy. You’ll be the face of the business in front of key decision-makers, building long-term relationships across acquisition commands (including PEO C3T, PEO IEW&S, National Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty leadership). You’ll help shape requirements, guide procurement strategies, and drive multimillion-dollar opportunities from first conversation through contract.
Success in this position will require both strategic thinking and tactical execution. You’ll be supported by a high-caliber internal team – including engineering, product, and marketing – but you’ll be expected to take the lead in uncovering opportunities, influencing stakeholders, and closing business.
What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience selling to the U.S. Army or other DoD branches – ideally within satellite communications, tactical networks, or adjacent C5ISR solutions.

A deep understanding of how Army acquisition operates, with existing relationships across key programs and commands.

Strong familiarity with DoD procurement methods, funding pathways, and contracting mechanisms.

Comfortable working in an emerging growth company – proactive, adaptable, and hands-on.

Able to obtain (or already hold) a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Ideal Background:

5+ years in a defense-focused business development or sales leadership role.

Bachelor’s degree required (or significant relevant experience in lieu).

Prior experience with SATCOM integrators or primes is highly advantageous.

Executive presence and strong communication skills – equally confident briefing a 3-star general or shaping a go-to-market strategy.

Willing to travel regularly (approx. 25%), including to customer sites, bases, and industry events.
