I am presently working with a prominent company that specializes in air compressors. Their primary goal is to provide top-notch solutions, encompassing services like sales, installation, maintenance, repairs, and system enhancements. The role of the Compressed Air and Vacuum Systems Service Technician is that of a Company ambassador, with primary responsibilities including the repair and maintenance of compressed air and vacuum equipment located at customer facilities. These services are carried out directly at the customer's site, on a responsive and as-needed basis, to guarantee utmost customer contentment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections to proactively identify and rectify issues with compressed air and vacuum equipment to prevent potential problems.
  • Perform both annual and semi-annual maintenance and testing on compressed air and vacuum systems.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergency service requests, both during regular operational hours and outside of them.
  • Proficiently program and troubleshoot microprocessor and PLC-based equipment controls.
  • Effectively address technical issues initiated by customers.
  • Demonstrate competence in starting up and troubleshooting compressed air and vacuum equipment.
  • Carry out work directly at customer sites.
  • Cultivate and sustain client relationships.
  • Serve as a valuable technical resource for customers.
  • Collaborate closely with the company's sales representatives and management to expand service and aftermarket business.
  • Willingness to travel when required to support other company technicians.
  • Complete daily reports and maintenance checklists as mandated and forward them to both the customer and the company's administrative team.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in mechanical skills and adept at problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and consultative skills.
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Capable of utilizing computer software and service programs.
  • Owns personal hand tools; the company can also provide them.
  • Company-supplied service truck.

While this role does not entail direct supervisory duties, it may involve offering guidance and mentorship to assist other service technicians in their learning process related to compressed air and vacuum systems.

Hours:

This position constitutes a full-time commitment with standard work hours scheduled from Monday through Friday. However, the candidate must have the flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessitated by the job responsibilities.

Required Experience:

  • Completion of high school or equivalent education.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Prior employment experience in a service-oriented organization is a prerequisite.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications like Asse 6040 are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Able to successfully pass government background checks and undergo regular drug screenings.
  • Experience in refrigeration is advantageous, though it is not a prerequisite.
