The role will be completely remote

The length of the role is between 3 to 6 months +

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following skill set:

Must-Have Skills:

• Phaser Experience: Deep knowledge of Phaser, particularly in optimizing performance and developing high-performing games.
• JavaScript Expertise: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, especially in game development environments like Phaser.
• React Experience: Solid experience with React, particularly in creating mobile or web applications with interactive features.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Hybrid Mobile App Development: Experience with cross-platform apps for both Android and iOS, utilizing frameworks and tools to build apps that run on multiple platforms.
• Native Mobile Technologies:
  • Hotwire/Turbo for server-driven UI in native apps.
  • Kotlin (for Android) and Swift (for iOS) experience.
• Backend Knowledge: Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or other backend technologies for full-stack development.

Core Responsibilities:

Optimize Performance of Casual Mobile Games:

• Focus on reducing ANR (Application Not Responding) events and visual lag to ensure smooth gameplay.

Reduce Performance-Related Crashes:

• Specifically, work to identify and reduce crashes on Android devices, focusing on performance bottlenecks and optimization techniques.

Profile:

• Expertise in Phaser and JavaScript: The candidate should be well-versed in developing high-performance Phaser apps and troubleshooting performance issues.
• Hybrid App Development: A good understanding of hybrid mobile apps, leveraging frameworks like React Native, and integrating them with Phaser.
• Deep Knowledge of Mobile Hardware Performance: Understanding how mobile hardware (like GPUs) interacts with browser performance and memory handling, enabling the candidate to optimize mobile games effectively.
• Experience Troubleshooting High-Performance Apps: The candidate should have practical experience resolving performance issues and reducing crashes in games, especially on Android.

This role requires someone who can work across the stack, focusing on both frontend game optimization (Phaser + React) and understanding the technicalities of hybrid mobile apps and native code.
