SAFETY MANAGER – DATA CENTER CONSTRUCTION

12-Month Contract | 1099 ONLY (No C2C / No W2)

This is a 1099 contract role only. Please apply only if you are able to work on a 1099 basis for the full duration of the contract.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support a large-scale data center construction project. This role is suited to safety professionals with a strong contracting background who have worked directly for a major general contractor or a well-established subcontractor on complex construction projects.

This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring strong field presence, credibility with crews, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site safety for active data center construction works

• Implement and enforce project-specific EHS programs aligned with GC standards

• Conduct site audits, inspections, and incident investigations

• Support daily planning meetings, JSAs, PTWs, and toolbox talks

• Interface directly with GC leadership, subcontractors, and project management

• Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement across the site

• Ensure compliance with OSHA and client safety requirements

Required Experience

• Previous experience working for a major General Contractor or established subcontractor (mandatory)

• Strong construction background – data center experience highly preferred

• Proven track record managing safety on large, complex construction projects

• Comfortable operating in a contractor-led environment with multiple trades

• Ability to be fully site-based and lead by presence

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 (minimum) – OSHA 510/500 preferred

• CSP, CHST, or similar credentials preferred but not required

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Contract Details

• Duration: 12 months

• Engagement: 1099 ONLY

• Location: On-site (data center project)

• Start: ASAP
