We have an immediate opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join our growing team in the Hampton Roads, VA area. In this role, you will be an integral member of the team, supporting customers with daily process control systems maintenance and optimization activities while working closely with production leaders and operations. You will also develop, design, and deliver quality process and control system projects throughout the design process-from conception to field commissioning.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Communicating with customers to define project requirements, interpret and explain designs, and build relationships.
- Designing control strategies to optimize performance.
- Managing and performing the design, configuration, documentation, and testing of complex process control systems.
- Providing site support, including commissioning, troubleshooting, startup, regular outage support, and system maintenance.
We are looking for candidates with the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:
- A degree/diploma in electrical or computer engineering OR experience as an Industrial Electrician with process controls and optimization knowledge.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Resourceful, self-managed, and goal-driven.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to present to others.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Additional valued but non-essential skills include:
- Experience in industrial control system troubleshooting, design, and configuration.
- Proficiency with platforms such as Honeywell Experion, Foxboro I/A, ABB, and/or Rockwell ControlLogix.
- Consulting engineering experience.
- Instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting.
- Commissioning, construction, and startup experience.
- Experience in the pulp & paper industry.
