Compressed Air Technician

Location: Livermore, CA

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Compressed Air Technician to support service operations for two established compressor companies in the Livermore, CA area. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of compressed air equipment at customer sites. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on rotary screw, reciprocating, and oil-free air compressors.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using proper tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct routine service including oil changes, filter replacements, belt changes, PM inspections, and system checks.
• Install compressed air equipment, dryers, tanks, filtration systems, and related components.
• Respond to service calls, evaluate issues, and provide clear recommendations to customers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and service reports.
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal staff regarding findings, repair options, and follow-up needs.
• Adhere to all safety standards and follow company policies and procedures.
• Maintain company service vehicle, tools, and inventory in good working order.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in compressor service, industrial maintenance, HVAC, or related mechanical field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (field work required).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in mechanical environments.
• Comfortable working in industrial and commercial settings.
