Analog IC Design Engineer – USA
Remote in US or relocation to New Jersey is provided.
A technology startup developing advanced solutions in high-speed and high-density data communication is seeking an Analog IC Design Engineer to join its team. This position focuses on designing high-performance, low-power analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits that interface with cutting-edge optoelectronic systems.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the analog designer will contribute to the development of circuits operating at multi-GHz bandwidths, collaborating closely with experts in optics, system architecture, signal integrity, IC packaging, and semiconductor technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design and implementation of high-speed analog circuits such as transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), modulator drivers, laser drivers, continuous-time linear equalizers (CTLEs), and variable gain amplifiers (VGAs) with bandwidths of 50GHz or higher.
-
Development of traditional analog and mixed-signal blocks including operational amplifiers, bandgap references, DACs, and ADCs.
-
Collaborate with layout teams to ensure optimal high-speed layout practices and minimal parasitic effects.
-
Perform electromagnetic modeling and simulation of passive structures like inductors, transformers, T-coils, and transmission lines.
-
Participate in silicon validation, lab testing, and debug of prototype ICs using high-frequency instrumentation.
-
Contribute to behavioral modeling, design automation, and simulation flows using tools such as Python, Verilog-A, and custom scripting.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Solid understanding of high-speed analog design principles and circuit topologies.
-
Experience in analog/RF layout and familiarity with EM simulation tools.
-
Hands-on lab experience with test equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNAs), oscilloscopes, and BERTs.
-
Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, etc.).
-
Comfortable scripting in Python and using design tools like Verilog-A or Cadence SKILL.
