Position: Compressed Air Service Technician
Location: Iowa Region (covering Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and surrounding areas)
Compensation: $25.00 – $40.00/hour (based on experience and certifications)
A respected and long-standing player in the industrial services sector is looking for a Compressed Air Service Technician to join their field service team in Iowa. This is a full-time, hands-on role that involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compressed air systems used by manufacturing, production, and industrial clients across the region.
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you’ll be working directly at customer sites, supporting important equipment through routine maintenance and emergency repairs. You’ll serve as a key resource in helping facilities stay operational and efficient-often being the difference between costly downtime and smooth production.
Key Responsibilities

Service, repair, and install rotary screw and reciprocating air compressor systems

Identify and correct mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues

Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and service recommendations

Communicate clearly with customers about equipment performance and proper operation

Participate in on-call rotation for urgent service requests

Represent the company professionally while working independently in the field
Your Background
-
3+ years of experience servicing air compressors or similar mechanical systems
-
Strong diagnostic and repair skills (mechanical and electrical)

Self-motivated and dependable with strong time-management skills

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications

Manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Ingersoll Rand, Quincy, Atlas Copco, Kaeser)

Familiarity with compressor control systems or PLC interfaces

Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance environments
