About the Role
Our client is a growing, forward-looking renewable energy company specialising in developing wind, solar PV, and battery storage projects. They are seeking a Project Developer to join their team and play a key role in planning and delivering energy infrastructure projects while contributing to the transition to sustainable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop energy projects from site identification / land acquisition through to permitting (e.g. environmental / building permit laws) and – depending on project – support through to commissioning.
- Assess potential project sites and create optimised layouts for wind turbines, solar PV arrays, or battery storage facilities.
- Prepare and manage permit applications under relevant legislation, coordinate with regulatory authorities.
- Commission and manage third-party consultants (e.g. environmental / soil / planning consultants) and collaborate with external planners / construction contractors.
- Develop project schedules and budgets; monitor costs and manage contractual documents (public- and private-law contracts).
- Liaise with stakeholders including government/regulatory bodies, private landowners, community representatives, and project partners.
- Ensure project compliance with legal, environmental, and planning standards, and manage documentation throughout project lifecycle.
What We Are Looking For
- University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field: regional / urban / environmental / landscape planning, geography, engineering, law, or similar.
- Several years proven experience in project development – ideally within renewables or infrastructure / energy projects.
- Good understanding of relevant planning, environmental and building law; or willingness to learn these quickly.
- Strong commercial and legal awareness, and ability to integrate technical, financial and regulatory aspects.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in German (written & spoken).
- Flexibility to travel occasionally for on-site visits.
- Structured, independent working style and team-oriented mindset.
