About the Role

We are seeking a Project Developer to drive the development of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage projects in Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing suitable project sites, managing permitting processes, and coordinating with landowners, authorities, and other key stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in a growing and dynamic sector.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure suitable sites for open-space photovoltaic and battery storage projects.
  • Assess potential locations with respect to planning regulations, permitting requirements, construction feasibility, and operational considerations.
  • Manage permitting procedures and maintain regular communication with authorities and municipalities.
  • Conduct negotiations and presentations with landowners, local stakeholders, and project partners.
  • Research and obtain land ownership data and establish a network of relevant decision-makers.
  • Proactively engage with property owners, local communities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent and present projects at local meetings and information sessions.
  • Carry out potential analyses and contribute to optimising project layouts.

Your Profile

  • A university degree in economics, engineering, planning, law, geography, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector (photovoltaics or wind energy), ideally across all phases – from site acquisition through to permitting.
  • Solid understanding of renewable energy development, including legal, planning, and real estate aspects.
  • A structured, independent, and goal-oriented approach to work, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Fluent German (spoken and written)
  • A Class B driving license and willingness to travel occasionally within Germany.

What’s on Offer

  • Flexible working
  • 30 days of paid annual leave
  • Up to 30 days of “workation” per year.
  • Opportunities for professional development within a dynamic and expanding company.
  • Attractive employee benefits
  • Referral rewards, company anniversary gifts, and regular social events including after-work gatherings, Christmas parties, and international summer festivals.

Summary

  • This role centres on project development for solar and battery storage projects, from identifying and evaluating new sites to managing permitting processes and coordinating across all key stakeholders. It suits individuals who combine technical understanding, organisational strength, and interpersonal skill, and who are motivated by contributing to the renewable energy transition.
