Pre-Sales Engineer – Secure Communications & Emerging Tech

About the Role
We are seeking a driven and technically adept Pre-Sales Engineer to support our enterprise and government customers as they explore cutting-edge secure communications and networking solutions. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business, helping bridge complex technical capabilities with real-world use cases in data protection, secure key exchange, and quantum-safe infrastructure.
You will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to educate prospects, develop tailored solutions, deliver compelling demonstrations, and support proof-of-concept engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical advisor to prospects and customers during the pre-sales lifecycle
- Collaborate with account executives to understand customer needs and translate them into tailored technical solutions
- Deliver in-depth product demos, technical presentations, and architecture whiteboarding sessions
- Lead and support proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot deployments, including installation guidance and configuration
- Respond to RFI/RFPs with accurate, compelling technical input
- Act as a liaison between customer technical teams and internal product/engineering groups to relay feedback and drive feature adoption
- Stay current with industry trends related to quantum-safe cryptography, secure key distribution, and secure networking
- Support conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings as a technical expert
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role
- Strong understanding of network security, encryption, cryptographic protocols, or secure communications
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience supporting enterprise or government accounts in a high-trust, compliance-focused environment
- Hands-on experience with networking equipment, PKI infrastructure, or data protection technologies
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a startup or emerging technology environment
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with quantum-safe cryptography, quantum key distribution (QKD), or post-quantum cryptographic standards
- Background in telecommunications, defense, or critical infrastructure sectors
- Experience working with channel partners or system integrators
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, etc.)
