Job Title: BMS Architect
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Engagement Type: Contract / Independent Contractor (1099 or Temporary W2)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced BMS Architect to lead the design and integration of Building Management Systems on commercial projects in Atlanta. You will define system architecture, control strategies, and high-level design frameworks to ensure scalable, efficient, and compliant BMS solutions. This is a strategic, design-driven role requiring strong technical expertise and collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define BMS system architecture and integration strategy
- Develop control strategies, sequences of operation, and high-level design documentation
- Review and validate system designs for compliance, scalability, and performance
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, project managers, and design teams
- Provide guidance during commissioning and handover to ensure design intent is met
Requirements
- Extensive experience in BMS design and architecture (Niagara/Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Trend)
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls, building systems, and integration standards
- Proven ability to define and document system architecture and control strategies
- Experience leading technical design discussions and guiding project teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
- Relevant certifications (BACnet, MODBUS, Niagara) are a plus
