Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for a Sales Manager on behalf of a company in Italy for the largest privately-owned space company in the country, specializing in the development of small satellites, advanced propulsion systems, and onboard avionics. With over 350 employees, the company offers turnkey solutions for Earth observation, telecommunications, and scientific missions. The companies vertically integrated operations encompass the design, development, and production of small satellites ranging from 50 to 500 kg, electric propulsion systems, Earth observation instruments, and avionics. The company has participated in various space missions, including NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory mission, which deployed the Curiosity rover on Mars.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to CEO or the Commercial Director, the Sales Manager will own the end to end sales cycle-identifying, negotiating, and closing satellite mission opportunities with operators, payload providers, and other space sector customers. You will leverage 7+ years of sales experience in both traditional (“OldSpace”) and emerging (“NewSpace”) markets to expand this companies footprint across Europe and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
* Identify, assess, and develop vertical business opportunities enabled by this companies led EO satellite missions.
* Bridge satellite capabilities (e.g., optical, thermal, radar payloads) with the needs of target industries such as automotive, railway, energy, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.
* Engage with key stakeholders across potential customer ecosystems to shape and provide service propositions in terms of DATA, images, and KPI
* Identify and manage strategic partnerships with downstream service providers and integrators.
* Cooperate with the technical teams to align mission specifications with market needs.
* Report to the Chief Commercial Officer and contribute to the company’s go-to-market and growth strategy for EO.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years of experience in the space industry, with proven exposure to both traditional (“Old Space”) and emerging (“New Space”) markets.
* Solid understanding of satellite systems, mission architectures, and downstream EO service applications.
* Track record of successfully developing commercial offerings or ecosystems in the space or EO domains.
