Role Overview
The PMO Controller / Director of Project Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of all marine projects from a portfolio, planning, and coordination standpoint. Rather than replacing on-site project management, this position functions as a central control hub-ensuring projects are correctly resourced, sequenced, and aligned across all departments.
Acting as a strategic partner to executive leadership, this role provides end-to-end visibility across the project portfolio, proactively identifying risks, constraints, and misalignments before they impact delivery, cost, or customer experience.
Key Responsibilities

Provide portfolio-level oversight of all active marine projects, with primary ownership of resource planning, scheduling, and project sequencing.

Allocate and balance installation management resources across multiple projects to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.

Develop, own, and continuously maintain the master project schedule, adapting to evolving client demands and internal capacity constraints.

Identify potential scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, or execution risks and escalate proactively to leadership.

Act as a central coordination layer between project management, installation teams, production, design, logistics, and finance.

Ensure project milestones are clearly communicated to finance to enable timely and accurate invoicing.

Oversee coordination with outsourced labor partners, participating in alignment calls as needed to ensure PMO standards are met (tools, uniforms, travel readiness, and documentation).

Support and dispatch on-site project managers, ensuring they are fully equipped and positioned for successful execution.

Establish and maintain consistent PMO standards, processes, and best practices across all European marine projects.

Uphold core values and a commitment to operational excellence, with a strong customer-first mindset and focus on continuous improvement.

Collaborate closely with internal and external production, account management, and design teams to ensure installations meet technical standards and project objectives.
Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of experience in project management, PMO leadership, or operations within marine, construction, or complex installation environments.

Proven experience managing multi-project portfolios with competing priorities, timelines, and shared resources.

Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills, with the ability to operate at both operational and executive levels.

Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced, delivery-driven environments.

Experience managing outsourced labor partners and international teams is highly desirable.
