About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Chemistry Team Leader to join a well-established technical consultancy that provides specialist services to major clients in the global oil and gas sector. With a strong track record in Produced Water Treatment, Injection and Production Chemistry, as well as Engineering Design and Asset Integrity Management, this role is central to leading and expanding a high-performing technical team.
As part of the second-tier management structure, you’ll take the lead in driving innovative solutions, managing complex projects, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production chemistry projects from conception to delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget alignment.
- Foster an environment of ethical practice, transparency, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met while upholding the highest standards of professional integrity.
- Encourage open communication and collaboration across departments to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
- Inspire and motivate your team by promoting a positive culture and proactively addressing inefficiencies or negative mindsets.
- Oversee technical competency frameworks to ensure continuous development of team capabilities.
Your Background
- At least 10 years’ experience in a relevant production chemistry or oil and gas consultancy role, with leadership responsibilities.
- A degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (essential); a master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is desirable.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and qualifications is advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of physical/inorganic chemistry, microbiology, and lab safety regulations (COSHH, MSDS, IATA).
- Prior experience in oil industry-related operations is highly beneficial.
