Senior Port Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Schedule, coordinate, and ensure vessel repair & maintenance is completed
- Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures
- Manage all ABS dates for vessels and ensure surveys are completed on time
- Assist vessel crews in preparation for Class audits, surveys and other regulatory hull and machinery inspections. Attend as needed, on case-by-case basis
- Work with operations and compliance staff to assist in keeping tugs compliant with all regulatory agencies including: USCG, ABS, Bureau Veritas, AWO, OCIMF SIRE
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance performed as directed by TSMS, including the use of company software program
- Manage oil sample program
- Compile and prioritize worklists for each vessel for both routine and major maintenance
- Oversee the completion of SINEX maintenance tracking program
- Track costs of repair and keep within budget
- Perform emergency repairs on vessels as required
- Perform special assignments and tasks as assigned
- On call as required for vessel engineering issues
- Manage and work with Port Engineers to ensure all engineering tasks completed
Requirements:
- Extensive managerial experience with on-shore operations, managing a high volume of vessels
- Experience maintaining tug or similar commercial vessels
- Knowledge of marine towing industry preferred
- Knowledge of tug maintenance systems and equipment
- Ability to repair marine equipment on site under varying and adverse conditions
- Ability to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment
- Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to get along with office staff and vessel crewmembers
