Field Service Engineer – Propulsion

As a member of our Dutch Field Service & Commissioning Engineering team, you’ll work at the cutting edge of technical innovation, troubleshooting complex propulsion systems and providing exceptional service worldwide. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of projects, from full commissioning and installations to ongoing service, maintenance, and repair of systems such as Controllable Pitch Propellers, Gearboxes, Water Jets, and Thrusters.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
* Offer hands-on technical expertise and troubleshoot ship propulsion systems, focusing on electronics, controls, or mechanical elements.
* Conduct inspections, adjustments, fine-tuning, and repairs to ensure propulsion systems operate at peak performance.
* Perform complex repairs, overhauls, installations, and commissioning both independently and with a team.
* Serve as a Technical Expert, supporting clients and engineers in the field to ensure seamless service execution.
* Collaborate with Service Coordinators and clients, taking ownership of final reports and technical documentation.
* Travel extensively (approximately 170 days per year) to provide expert on-site service.
What you bring to the team:
* Technical expertise and experience in Field Service Engineering within maritime, machine building, oil & gas, or related industries.
* Ability to work independently during complex service operations.
* Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
* A customer-focused, problem-solving mindset with a dedication to quality and safety.
* A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
