FPGA Design Engineer - St Gallen - Temp to Perm

Darwin Recruitment has a new vacancy at one of our clients located in St Gallen where we are looking to hire an FPGA Design Engineer to start as soon as possible. This is 12 months Temporary contract followed by Permanent employment.

Are you passionate about cutting-edge FPGA development? Join our team and take the lead in driving FPGA development through its entire lifecycle. You'll be involved in everything from providing software engineering support to testing on hardware and meticulous documentation.

General Conditions:

• Contract type: 12 months contracting / consulting up to CHF 105 per hour
• Salary after 12 months: Depends on seniority, approx. CHF 125,000
• Duration: 12 months, followed by permanent employment
• Location: St Gallen 4 days per week / 1 day from home
• Start date: March 2024
• Workload: 100%

This is you:

• Experience with embedded systems engineering / sensor technologies and exposure to FPGA Design
• Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary and international team using English (German is a plus)
• Interested in embedded software development (Linux, C++) and in Python or Matlab
• University degree in Electronics, Software Engineering or related

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading FPGA development from inception to deployment, including software engineering support, hardware testing, and comprehensive documentation.
• Develop interfaces for high-speed sensors and actors, integrate with standard bus interfaces, and design internal logic blocks while leveraging existing cores.
• Implement best practices, methodologies, and tools to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Take ownership of your designs, offering guidance to colleagues and external partners.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
