About the Role
Location – Hamburg, Leipzig (fully remote across Saxony)
We are seeking an experienced Project Developer to support the identification, acquisition, and development of open-space sites for utility-scale battery storage (BESS) and photovoltaic (PV) projects across Germany. In this role, you will manage projects from early-stage site scouting through permitting and preparation for construction, working closely with municipalities, landowners, technical experts, and external service providers.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding renewable energy infrastructure within a rapidly growing sector.
Your Responsibilities
- Identify and secure suitable open-space sites for BESS and PV projects across Germany
- Negotiate lease or purchase agreements with landowners and municipalities
- Present projects at municipal level and lead public information events
- Initiate and coordinate planning law procedures (e.g., land use plan amendments, development plan preparation)
- Manage permit applications and support projects up to construction readiness
- Select, commission, and coordinate external service providers
- Maintain clear communication with municipalities, authorities, service partners, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
Your Profile
- Completed studies in engineering, renewable energies, geography, law, spatial or urban planning, or a comparable field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in utility-scale project development for BESS, Wind and/or PV projects
- Strong skills in MS Office (O365)
- Fluent German skills (written & spoken)
- Class B driving licence (approx. 20% national travel)
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with a confident professional presence
- Independent, structured, and self-driven working style combined with strong teamwork capabilities
- High motivation to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy in Germany
